Well, Natostan had already lost the MAD before the Russians surprised us with the ORESHNIK.

Russia changed the MAD game in April 2018 when Putin demoed the new Russian hypersonic arsenals with speeds ranging from Mach 10 to Mach 28! I mean 28 times the speed of sound!

He demoed one hitting Florida after going from Russia to the north pole, the south pole and the final target (called Glider). At the time I thought that the US military was going to notice that something had changed. Apparently, nobody noticed it in D.C.

They have since turned 80% of their Samart-28 ICBMs hypersonic - you need only a single Sarmat missile to destroy the entire state of Texas and nothing can intercept the warheads that are released by the missile since they're hypersonic.

ORESHNIK being a medium range ballistic missile was designed for Europe and the Middle East.

Any potential attack on the US would require the nuclear Poseidon that can create tsunamis on each US coast to release radioactive floods on coastal regions up to a distance of 500km from the coast. The second strike might require 5-10 Sarmat-28 ICBMs fired from Russia (Siberia).... 1 on NORAD in Colorado, 1 on New York, 1 on Maryland (D.C area), 1 on California, etc.....

To be honest, Russia (11 time zones) has a lot more chances of surviving a MAD attack than the US (3 time zones - forget tiny Hawaii that deserves to regain its independence lost in 1949). S-500 and S-550 can shoot down hypersonics (that the US doesn't have) in the outer space. On the other hand, whatever Russia will throw at the US will reach its target!!!

Poseidon is a pretty clever and diabolical idea that goes back to the '50's if I remember correctly. At the end of the day, all war is a choice made by men and women to kill for a paycheque, their country, and maybe a medal. For people who think war is some kind of biblical prophecy I wrote the logical proof why any diety with moderate or better wisdom wouldn't write such a thing. https://danielnagase.substack.com/p/looking-at-prophecies-from-a-different

I suspect what you wrote? For the believers? In one ear, out the other.. So to speak...

While I respect your fine writing I must disagree. Once the nuclear option has been deployed, by whomever is crazy enough to push the button makes it a zero sum game for the world. It matters not who was first or where the bombs came from or who shot last.

Nuclear holocaust will ensue and life as we know it will cease to exist and millions of those who survive will likely wish for death. The electrical grids, the internet, cell towers will have also fallen. Tribunals, should any be alive to desire such a thing, will need to wait out the fallout and some kind of restoration of modern services.

Putin is not crazy because if he was he would be much more aggressive in his attacks and would have likely already shown his hand at severe escalation. The side we need to worry about is the USA.

Many days remain between now and Inauguration Day and it’s clear the agenda of the Obama Hussein/Biden puppet regime is to continue pushing Putin to the brink. I believe there are many more surprises to unfold or traps to step in before they even begin to cede power to anyone or maybe Inauguration Day isn’t even in the cards.

Pray for peace! Pray for level heads. Pray for deliverance! God is our best hope for intervention.

The effects of Nuclear war have been greatly exaggerated because it was useful internal propaganda for both the USA and the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The fallout zones would be fairly limited, and nuclear winter is about as likely as climate change flooding New York City, which is to say it will never happen. There have already been about 2,000 open-air nuclear tests since the dawn of the atomic age, yet we are all still here with no nuclear winter. In a nuclear war, that number is close to the maximum number of warheads likely to detonate.

The militaries of all nuclear powers have much more realistic estimates of the damage caused by such weapons, and it is a lot smaller than the public has been told all of our lives. This accounts for why they keep pushing for the use of tactical nuclear weapons on the battlefield.

Luckily, nuclear weapons are probably fiction.

I’m will remain skeptical of this line of thinking (although I have read of Hiroshima and Nagasaki being firebombed vs atom bombed) but I’m not above hoping you are correct!

I’m certainly clear myself that nuclear weapons were not dropped on Hiroshima or Nagasaki. I very much doubt they are more than PsyOp

People who've never gone to either place often say things like you do.

I looked at the article. It is total bullshit, written by someone who obviously doesn't understand the science, but just cherry-picked a few facts and scientific terms here and there and then reinterpreted them in some quirky way to fit a bogus narrative.

And huge hoards of scientists who have been there too. It’s a silly story. There may be nuclear weapons as a possibility. But Hiroshima and Nagasaki were clearly conventional.

That's right. If you don't launch a retaliatory strike, you are guaranteed to resurface and dock on enemy soil. If you do launch in retaliation, there will likely be very little enemy soil to worry about.

Except that Russia due to its size and better anti missile capabilities is far more likely to win.

I haven't seen the info you may have that shows Russian anti-missile superiority. So I would say perhaps you're right. But when you're talking about each nuke with explosive power exponentially larger than the Hiroshima bomb, It is obvious a dozen or fewer of these hitting targets will likely destroy Russian society and military strength. The idea is not victory but MAD.

If you have a link to Russian anti-missile defense stats, I would appreciate it.

Russia's platforms are better, but the only way to test that is in a hot war. The superiority of Russia's SA series is best seen in their efficacy of knocking down ATACMS on the battlefield in Ukraine. Their record is imperfect but steadily improving.

I live near Norfolk Virginia, largest navy base in the world. Norfolk naval shipyard is stationed on the ELizabeth river, and there are nuclear subs there. One of my friends was a nuclear engineer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and said there are more nukes under the Elizabeth river than you can count. He said if people knew the nuclear power sitting underneath that river, they would run scared and all move out of town. However, I definitely would not want to take my chances against the Russians at this point. No matter how much nuclear power we have or how much they have it all results in annihilation and destruction of the planet.

Hypersonic sounds scary but is above Mach 5. The SR71 aircraft designed in the 1950's was Mach 3.2 at 2,200 mph. Mach 5 is above 3,800 mph. All ICBM's since the 70's are above Mach 5 which is nothing new. The missile defense shield assumes an ICBM with a non changing trajectory since the defense missile has no warhead and uses its kinetic energy to take it out. If the incoming missile has the ability to change its trajectory after its apogee, that is a problem making the defense missile a bit useless. Maybe we will find out if nukes are real.
